A beautiful late Victorian dressing table jar featuring a solid sterling silver lid hallmarked for Birmingham 1909.
The jar has an elegant tall fluted cut-glass body with a polished silver push lid.
Pieces like this were commonly part of Victorian/Edwardian dressing table or vanity sets, used for storing items such as cotton wool, hair accessories, or cosmetics.
The glass is nicely blown with off round panels that catch the light well, while the silver lid has developed a lovely antique patina consistent with age.
